Joel G. Volle, age 82, a resident of Wheaton, IL since 1968, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Silverado of St. Charles. He was born August 13, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Edward and Gwendolyn Volle.

Joel grew up with his four siblings in rural southern Michigan, where he had many fond memories of being in God's creation. He attended Wheaton Academy and graduated from Elgin High School. He started his college career at Northwestern University and later, as an adult, graduated from Wheaton College. In 1962, he married Joan Weisman.

Joel worked in the paper and printing industries for his whole career. After he left Boise Cascade, he and a partner started, a specialty bindery focused on unique gluing and folding applications. He later moved to Tempo Graphics where he spent 30 years supervising the evening bindery operations. He had a passion for designing and building equipment to meet specific industry needs, yet his greatest love at work was for his coworkers.

His Christian faith was central to his life. He loved nature and saw it as evidence of God's handiwork. Along with his wife Joan, he ministered at DuPage Convalescent Center for 37 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Volle, four sons, Mark (Miriam) Volle of Lake Elsinore, CA, David (Miriam) Volle of Glendale Heights, IL, Jonathan (Lisa) Volle of Carol Stream, IL, and Stephen (April) Volle of Friedrichshafen, Germany, 8 grandchildren, Micah, Sarah, Joshua (Elisa), Christian, Daniel, Samuel, Andrew, and Kaelyn. He is also survived by four siblings Daniel (LaVonne) Volle, Miriam (the late Willis) Myers, Naomi (Russ) Bennett and Nathan Volle and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. at Wheaton Bible Church, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. A livestream of the service will be available here: https://youtu.be/trFGpOKgjHg

Interment will be held privately at Wheaton Cemetery.
