Lois N. Jasper, age 90, a resident of Winfield since 1953, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.  She was born May 14, 1928 in Oak Park to Walter and Helen Nordmark.

She grew up in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago and graduated from Austin High School where she met Paul Jasper.  They were married on June 1, 1950.  She graduated from Northern IL University with an Elementary Education Degree and later earned a Master's Degree from National Louis University.  She taught in Carol Stream and Wheaton Schools until retirement in 1991.

Lois loved music and participated in the Wheaton Choral-Aires and the Glen Ellyn/Wheaton Chorale.  She played piano, was a skillful baker and enjoyed gardening.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, games and Jeopardy.  She and Paul traveled the world.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, 3 children, Steven (Janis) Jasper of Algonquin, Nancy (Stefan) Borges of Winfield and Judy (Marc) Congrave of Rockford, five grandchildren, Richard (Marina) Borges, Christina (Keith) Wojewnik, Thomas (Emily) Borges, Chenin (Joe) Rude and Erin (Paul) Wallis, and three great-grandchildren, Elliott, Logan, and Marielle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Nordmark.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
