Terry McDermott, age 64, a longtime resident of Woodridge, IL, passed away March 4, 2019, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. He was born July 25, 1954 in Chicago to Jim and Joanne McDermott.

Terry grew up on the west side of Chicago in the Austin neighborhood. He attended St Angela school and Holy Cross High School. He enjoyed travel and watching sports but mostly he enjoyed family life. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. In 1979 he was given the gift of life when he received a kidney transplant from his generous brother Joe. Terry had many health issues throughout his life but whenever he was asked how he was doing, he was always "good."

He is survived by his wife, Diana McDermott, three sons, Michael (Yulia) Block, Jim McDermott and Ryan McDermott, one granddaughter, Jane Block, four brothers, Patrick (Pam) McDermott, Joe (Kathy) McDermott, Kevin McDermott and Dan (Helen) McDermott, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Chapel , 130 N West, Wheaton. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery .
