Robert "Bob"
Dulak
October 17, 1948 – September 6, 2021
Robert "Bob" Dulak, age 72, a resident of Wheaton, IL, died peacefully at home on September 6, 2021 surrounded by family, after living bravely with ALS for the past year. He was born on October 17, 1948 in Stevens Point, WI. He was an honored Vietnam veteran, and performed over 25 arial missions while he served with the Army First Infantry Division.
Bob attended Riverside High School in Milwaukee, WI where he was a member of the wrestling team. In his 19th year he married Noreen, whom he met on a baseball diamond in Rosholt, WI when they were each 10 years-old. It was love at first sight! Bob and Noreen lived first in Stevens Point, and then Appleton, WI where they raised Nicole and Scott. Bob was an avid fisherman, hunter, and cyclist. He relished the outdoors and took exciting sportsman trips throughout Wisconsin, Montana, Wyoming and Canada with his son, Scott and with friends. Bob and Noreen enjoyed both camping and traveling in style together, and shared many memories of trips over the years. There wasn't much Bob couldn't fix or restore, and he loved working with his hands. He used these gifts in many ways- from restoring furniture, making jewelry, building his granddaughter an amazing dollhouse, painting, and sparing lots of folks from costly repairs with his DIY skills. Bob was a history buff and could often be found in a quiet corner with a book.
Bob was loved and admired by those who knew him for his gift of helpfulness. After his early retirement from his 33 years at AT&T, Bob took many opportunities to serve others, including volunteering weekly at the Veteran's Clinic, volunteering at the Fair Store to benefit Christian education, starting a men's group, and helping countless relatives and friends with yardwork and fix-it projects. Bob was an adored, hands-on grandfather, who invested much time and energy into having a close relationship with each of his 4 grandchildren. Bob cherished walking arm-in-arm with Noreen until the day he was no longer able. Bob loved, provided for, and protected his family so well. Indeed Bob's greatest accomplishment in this life was leaving a legacy of steadfast commitment to God and to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Noreen Dulak, his daughter Nicole Barton (Eric) of Wheaton, IL and his grandchildren Liam, Micah, Matthew, and Chloe. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Scott.
