H. Philip Stein, "Phil," age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Johnson Health Care Center In Carol Stream, Illinois. He was born on November 2, 1945, in Fremont, Ohio to Rev. Howard & Gail Stein. After years of being wheel-chair-bound, and bed-ridden, he is now "walking and leaping and praising God." (Acts 3:8)

Phil's greatest love was praying for the needs of others and sharing the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ with everyone who came to his room. He had a cheerful spirit and a heart of encouragement. He yearned for the day that the Lord would take him home.

Phil grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from high school with honors. He attended Asbury University and worked at Gary-Wheaton Bank after his family moved to Wheaton in the 1970's. As a young man, Phil loved sports and travel and visited many places with Young Life and various church groups. Phil was a charter member of the Blanchard Road Alliance Church in Wheaton, now called Wellspring Alliance Church.

He will be greatly missed by his brother, Dwight (Sue) Stein of Bothell, WA and sister, Jean (Greg) Giles of Cordell, OK, and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at Wheaton Cemetery, 1209 Warrenville Rd., Wheaton, IL 60189 , on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11:00 am.
