Peter O. Martyn, age 66, a lifelong resident of Wheaton, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at home. He was born July 21, 1955 in Elmhurst to Charles & Emily Martyn.

Peter was a wonderful husband, father & grandfather to his seven grandchildren. He was baker by trade for more than 30 years at Carney's Bakery in Wheaton. He was an avid home baker, gardener, and beekeeper at his hobby farm in Earlville, Illinois. He also spent 10 years as a self-employed HVAC technician for Martyn Mechanical Services in Wheaton. Peter had a love of bird watching and enjoyed nature to its fullest.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Eileen; his children Christy (Thomas) Davidson & Catherine (Bradley) Reese; his grandchildren: Sophia, Haley & Tommy Davidson; and Lorna, Jack, Leo & Lydia Reese. Also survived by his siblings Phyllis Carroll, Paul (Nancy) Martyn, Pamela (Charlie) Gentz, Penny (Bob) Wing, & Parker (Judy) Martyn and many nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: Phillip, Patrick (Gail), Pauline (Mike), Pascal (Tammy) & Perry.

A visitation will be held at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance to follow at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
