Myrle E. Howell, age 91, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at home.

Born to Myrle Sr. and Estelle Pearl Howell he was raised in the small towns of Chanute and Arkansas City, Kansas.  After serving in the Army he moved to Chicago to attend art school.  While living in Oak Park and attending Judson Baptist Church, he met Ruth, his wife of over 65 years.  They built a home together in Elmhurst where they raised their three sons and enjoyed their many dogs and cats. Myrle worked in commercial art and marketing as owner of a small studio business and later with Van Kampen Merritt. After retiring, he focused on his artwork of watercolors, oils, and pencil drawings and attended Immanuel Presbyterian Church with Ruth. His love for Christ, his family, playing golf, and his artwork and photography were the joy of his life.

Myrle is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Howell; children, Scott (Erika) Howell, Mark (Kerry) Howell, and Todd (Kari) Howell; grandchildren, Julia Howell, Alex Howell, and Erin Howell; and his brother Gary Howell.

Services were privately held at Hultgren Funeral Home.
