Jo Ellen Johnson, age 63, a resident of Wheaton, IL, formerly of Polo and Bensenville, IL, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, at DuPage Care Center in Wheaton. She was born December 28, 1957 in Chicago to Joseph and Lucille Szczepanik.

Jo grew up in Schiller Park and attended Fenton High School. She worked as a Certified Dietary Specialist in Sterling, IL. She married Gary Johnson in 1984 and they had two children, Sara and Cody.

She loved her dog, Hilda. She enjoyed all the Chicago sports teams, and loved the Cubs. Her birthday was always special and she enjoyed holidays. Most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by her children, Sara Johnson and Cody Johnson, two step-children, Gary and Jason Johnson, five siblings, Carol (Richard) Malek, Jean (Ronald) Clesen, William (Lou Ann) Szczepanik, David (Julie) Szczepanik and Daniel Szczepanik, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Gary Johnson.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m.
