IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey
Kinney
October 17, 1963 – October 14, 2021
Jeffrey Kinney, age 57 and a resident of Elgin, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021. He was born October 17, 1963 in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Jeff was a loving and caring father to his two sons, Matt and Steve. He worked hard at his job as a heavy equipment operator and then continued to go out of his way to help his boys--whether it be coaching a baseball team or working on cars. He also helped his mom with various home improvement and repair projects. Jeff could fix anything.
Jeff was the sweetest , most giving and hard-working husband to his new wife, Diane. He is her hero. He also had a profound effect on the lives of her children, Chris (wife Ashleigh) and Jamie (husband Dan).
Jeff continued to be known by his co-workers, friends, and family as a hard-working, loving and caring man. He has been referred to as an "Energizer bunny." During his years in Elgin with his wife, Diane, his faith led him to serve his church, Harvest Bible Chapel, as a member of the production crew on Sunday mornings.
In these years, he would enjoy his "free time" by rehabbing a lakeside cabin, fishing from his pier, taking his pontoon boat out for a ride, walking Dobby, and enjoying outdoors.
People from all of Jeff's walks of life admire him for his gentle, kind, strength of character. He will be remembered by his family, friends and neighbors as a quiet, selfless, hard-working child of God.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; his children Steve (fiancée Dominique Didier) & Matthew Kinney; his step-children Chris (Ashleigh) Zysko & Jamie (Dan) Kerr; his mother Marilyn; his brother Mike (Nita) Kinney; and his sisters-in-law Deborah (Tom) Kost & Gail (Tom) Jones. He is also survived by his faithful canine companion Dobby.
A visitation will be held at Harvest Bible Chapel, 1000 N. Randall Rd, Elgin, IL 60123 on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:30a.m. Masks are recommended and will be required for those unvaccinated.
