Jean A. Dugo, nee Maglio, a longtime resident of Glendale Heights, IL, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Jean was born in Chicago on August 12th, 1937 to John and Antoinette Sanzo, third of four children.
Jean and her first husband, Vito, purchased a home in the newly developed area of Glendale Heights and lived there with their four children. Vito passed away in 1969 leaving her a single mom and widow. She remarried in 1983. Dominic Dugo and Jean continued to live in Glendale Heights until Dominic's passing in 2013. Jean had recently moved to Elgin to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
Jean raised two daughters, Karen Neumann and Patricia Maglio; as well as two sons, Vito (Mary) and Steve (Ellen).
Jean was an active member of the Glendale Heights Senior Center. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends, playing bingo and her trips to the casino.
Jean is survived by her sons, Vito (Mary) and Steve (Ellen); her grandsons, Nicholas, (Melody), Joe Neumann, Vito, and Steven; her granddaughters, Kara (Joe) Forren, and Mercedes; four great-grandchildren, Meadow, Stella, Dominic, and Vita; her sister, Elenor Gentile; and her nieces, Diane (Joe) McCann and Linda (John) Enis.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Vito Maglio and Dominick Dugo; her daughters, Karen Neumann and Patricia Maglio; her mother, father, two brothers, Joseph and Dominic Sanzo, and her brother-in-law, Steve Gentile.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at
St. Matthew Church
