Malmstrom
October 4, 1941 – June 25, 2022
James P. Malmstrom, age 80, a resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away, peacefully at home with his family by his side, on Saturday, June 25, 2022. He was born October 4, 1941 in Chicago.
Jim grew up in Zion, IL, where he was a part of the Methodist Church. He met Gelene Noble and they were married on on December 30, 1961. They raised their four children in Streamwood. He worked for ITW in Elgin for many years.
He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin and in recent years at Community Fellowship, where he was a greeter. He enjoyed taking care of his home and yard, but his family was most important.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gelene, four children, Carla Malmstrom, Alan (Lin) Malmstrom, Brenda (Larry) Allen, Gregory (Brenda) Malmstrom, 11 grandchildren, Jesse (Emily), Tracy, Bry, Amber, Adam, Jennifer (John), Christina (Richard), Ian, Jocelyn, Karrissa, Matthew, three step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister, Linda, and his half-sister, Sharon.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Community Fellowship. Interment will follow at Wayne Township Cemetery in West Chicago, Illinois.
