Gloria D. Leetz, age 85, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. She was born April 4, 1937 in Chicago to Harry & Lillian Gustafson.

Gloria graduated from Caldwell grade school and Chicago Christian High School. Later, she majored in voice and education at Northwestern University. After college, she taught school in Flossmoor and Wheaton and loved telling people that she had John and Jim Belushi as students.

Gloria's big love in life was music. She gave piano lessons, was very involved with singing, and was also once in a theater group. She sang with the DuPage Symphony Orchestra and put on concerts with several music organizations around DuPage County. Gloria served on her church's music committee, sang in their choir, and also sang in a trio with her sisters for many years. In addition to music, Gloria loved to travel and had traveled all over the world throughout her life.

Gloria loved to entertain in her home with family and friends. She enjoyed making meals and would often bring them to shut-ins. She also knew Billy Graham through her friends that lived next door to her and enjoyed their interactions. Gloria's faith and her church were very important to her.

She is survived by her sister Barbara (the late Bruce) Lindholm; her nieces & nephews: Deborah (David) Brown, Darel Lindholm, David (Diane Martin) Lindholm, Kimberly Lindholm, Karin (Todd) Hutchinson, Karla (Ronald) Olsen, Kurt Keller & Kent (Betsy) Keller; and many great-nieces & great-nephews. Also survived by her longtime, dear friend Martin Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by her sister Nancy (the late Karl) Keller; her parents; and her former husband Paul Leetz.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 10-11am at Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church, 277 Hawthorne Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church.
