March 5, 1983 – September 2, 2022
Gary Bryan Bridgmon, 39 passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's Disease. He was born on March 5, 1983 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL.
Gary attended Indian Knoll Elementary School in West Chicago, IL. He was a Cub Scout and a prolific little league baseball player. He played on several little league teams; most notably the Kane County Cougars. Gary and his family moved to Mundelein, IL for his junior high and high school years. Gary continued to play baseball in the minor leagues with his high school coach asking him to continue playing baseball his senior year. High school for Gary was filled with several friends, video games, and watching WWE Wrestlers, Gary's heart was set on joining the Navy.
Immediately after graduation Gary was off to Great Lakes. Upon graduation Gary was assigned to The USS Nimitz; The Navy's largest nuclear powered aircraft carrier. There Gary, worked on the brakes and landing gears of fighter jets. Gary's great dream was to one day be a fighter pilot.
Gary is survived by his brother, Terry Bridgmon Jr., his step-father Terrance McKenna. His aunts and uncle Sharon (Jim) Colvin, Bernice Jones, Sherri (late Jim) Bell and many cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother and father Carolyn McKenna & Terry Bridgmon; his aunt Patricia Lynge; and uncle Rodney Jones Jr.
Visitation will be held at Fellowship Church, 130 Shawnee Drive, Carol Stream, IL 60188, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 12 Noon until the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
