Eleanor Harrison's Obituary
Eleanor Harrison, age 90, a resident of Wheaton, IL, passed away of natural causes Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Naperville, Illinois. She was born 1927 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She grew up in Toronto where she met the love of her life Bruce Harrison as teenagers. They were married in August 1945. Eleanor had a quiet faith in God. They raised their children in St. Andrews United/Presbyterian Church in Canada and in recent years has attended the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton. Eleanor and Bruce were married 70 years at the time of Bruce's passing.
Eleanor and Bruce loved to travel, to see new places around the world. Over the years the family made their home in Toronto, Boston, Rochester N.Y. and most recently Wheaton. In their retirement years Eleanor and Bruce toured the lower 48 states in their motor home, whimsically named "Lazy Daisy".
Eleanor enjoyed the hobbies of knitting, sewing and music and shared her talents by mentoring others and giving gifts lovingly created by her hand.
Described as a spunky and generous person, she was unfaltering in her care and compassion for others, never putting herself first. She was full of love and forgiveness and had the ability to see past people's faults and be ever supportive. She had a strong positive influence on many throughout her life. Her love for her husband, Bruce and their children, Lee, Bruce and Rob was profound and everlasting, her support encouraging the best from each of them.
Predeceased by her Husband Bruce December 2014, Mother Charlotte Banford 1974, Father Richard Banford 1984.
Survived by her children Lee, Bruce (Spouse Lisa) and Rob (Spouse Lisa), her grandchildren, Michelle (spouse Brian), Robert, Richard, Anthony, Angela and Bryan and great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Anthony, Addison and Abryanna.
Services and interment will be private.
