Ed
Felske
October 9, 1928 – December 31, 2020
Edmund R. Felske, age 92, of Wheaton, entered Heaven on Thursday, December 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, (Norma) in 2012.
Ed was born October 9, 1928 in Chicago, the son of Edmund and Nellie Felske. He attended Prairie Bible Institute, graduated from John Brown University in 1953 with both a BA and BS in Secondary Education, and obtained a Masters of Religious Education from Bethany Biblical Seminary in 1955. He met his wife of 50 years (Norma) while working at Scripture Press Publications in Wheaton.
Ed was most known and loved as owner and manager of Crown Graphics Print Shop in downtown Wheaton. It was a business he started in the basement of his home, but it was a ministry to thousands over a span of 50 years, as socializing with Ed was half the printing experience. He and his brother, Arnold, were well-known and loved by the local establishments they often visited during business hours (Dunkin' Donuts, The Smokehouse, local banks….)
If Ed wasn't at "the shop," he was most often found on the sidelines of a soccer field. He served as the official time-keeper for Wheaton College soccer games (both men's and women's) for 25+ years.
Ed and Norma were a vital part of Wheaton Bible Church for many years and the College Church of Wheaton in their final years. Ed was a resident of Covenant Living in Carol Stream since 2014. Anyone who ever encountered him knew that the greatest joy of his life was his children and grandchildren.
In his personal life, Ed never met a stranger or a puzzle he didn't love. He passionately and generously cared for people and exemplified God's love in every interaction. He is survived by his brother (Arnold Felske) and will be deeply missed by many. In addition to all of the Wheaton community, he will be remembered so fondly by his children Pete Felske (Jennifer), Pamela Felske Neu (Bob), grandchildren Sarah Neu Marlin (John), Stephen Neu (Ashleigh), Matthew Neu, Hayden Felske (son of Pete and Jennifer Felske) and great-grandchild Mia (daughter of Stephen and Ashleigh Neu.)
A private burial will be held at Wheaton Cemetery.
