Dr. Meredith "Med" James Bailie, age 89, a resident of Winfield, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 29, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born February 14, 1933 in Williston, North Dakota.

Dr. Bailie was a beloved Pastor and counselor to many people over his lifetime and served as a Pastor, shepherd, counselor and missionary for more than 60 years. Over his life of ministry, he served four congregations throughout Illinois and as a "Pastor" to missionaries around the globe where he provided counseling and pastoral care to those serving overseas.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, May Bailie, son, Mike Bailie, daughters, Marlys (Gerry) Smuk, Martha (Ernie) Gingrich, and Melodie (David) DeVel, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Thomas & Lillian Bailie and his brother Rev. Royal Bailie.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187. A funeral service will be held at One Line Church, 1300 S. President St., Wheaton, IL 60189 on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
