David C De Jong, age 64, a resident of West Chicago, IL, passed away on August 21, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL due to injuries from a motorcycle  accident.

David was born to Kenneth & Pearl De Jong on October 15, 1957 in Oak Park, IL.  He graduated from Glenbard West High School in 1975.

David was an amazing gifted artist.  He was an awesome musician- playing the drums was a natural gift from God.  He loved music- his ears heard things we didn't.  His gift of photography showed an incredible talent for detail capturing the beauty & perfection of his subjects.

He was a loving & affectionate father to Kathryn & Anna.  They shared fun times kayaking, having bonfires, going to concerts & watching movies together- especially "The Chosen" series.  Kathryn always appreciated her papa making her a perfect cup of coffee and his famous Norwegian pancakes for breakfast.

Dave was a friend to many from his motorcycle riding buddies, his Bible study friends, his church family, childhood friends, musician friends & of course his family.  His smile, laughter & loving personality will be missed by everyone.  His faith in Jesus got him through some tough times these past few years & we rejoice knowing he is in heaven with his Savior.

He is survived by his daughter Kathryn of West Chicago, his mother Pearl, brothers Donald (Marianne), Daniel (Meredith), sister Sandra De Jong Gangwer, nephews Benjamin, Luke, Daniel, Timothy & Stephen, and a niece Joyanna.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church of DuPage, 27W344 Galusha Ave, Warrenville, IL 60555. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until 11:00 and following the service. A graveside service will be held at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago on Friday afternoon.
