Mae Dyer's Obituary

Mae Dyer, age 92, longtime Wheaton resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, with her twin sister Bonnie and family at her side.

Born on May 7, 1926, in Tillamook, Oregon, Mae grew up on her grandmother's farm in Tioga, ND and later moved to Batavia, to attend high school. The twins attended Monmouth College and graduated from Aurora College both becoming Home Economics teachers. Mae moved to Wheaton in 1957, where she raised her 3 daughters. The family moved to Glen Ellyn in 1971. She returned to Wheaton in 1984, where she lived in Adare Farm until a few years ago when she moved to Beacon Hill in Lombard.

Mae was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church for 62 years in Wheaton where she actively participated in the St. Julian Women's Guild as well as other programs the ladies coordinated. From the founding of Central DuPage Hospital, she was a weekly hospital volunteer until recently when she devoted her time to the hospital Auxiliary at Wise Penny Resale shop in Wheaton. Mae was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Her family was her greatest joy in life, especially her grandchildren, whom she babysat for often when they were younger.

Mae was the adored sister of Bonnie Jean Watson, loving mother of Susan (Tim) Hultgren, Carol (Christopher) Brown and Sally (Brad) Murrow, devoted grandmother of Annie-Laurie (Michael) Finnerty, Rebecca (fiancé Dan McCracken) Murrow and Benjamin (Gabriela) Murrow, fond aunt of Linda (Donna Miller) Conrad and Nancy (the late Ted) Juszczyk, great aunt of Tommy (Jessica Perry) Juszczyk and Mikey (fiancée Lindsay Oestreich) Juszczyk and dear friend and companion of the late Edward Conrad. She was preceded in death by her parents Alma and Lankford Osborn and her nephews Karl and Richard Krause.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church Chapel, 130 N. West Street, Wheaton, IL 60187, on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Wheaton from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church are appreciated.
