Harry R. Clamor's Obituary

Harry R. Clamor age 92, a resident of Wyndemere in Wheaton, died Wednesday, April 21. Harry was born on June 19, 1917. The son of Guido and Primia Clamor, brother of Lydia Plonder and Flora Clamor. A native of Chicago although he lived in Deerfield, IL most of his life.
He graduated from the Froebel Elementary School and Harrison High School. He attended Austin Jr. College and Northwestern University.
He was an active business man as president of Sales Tools, Inc., David Poster Corp. and Rotor Bindings Ltd. He also served as director and vice president of the Sales Executives Club of Chicago.
He and his wife, Marian traveled extensively. They especially enjoyed and often visited the Tuscany region of Italy where family remains.
His special interest was opera and operetta. He lectured for the Lyric Opera Co. of Chicago, and introducing this art form to many persons. He worked extensively with Light Opera Works in Evanston where he was elected president emeritus in April 1977.
He is survived by daughters, Karlene Peterson and Justine Clamor, son in law Ronald Peterson, four grand children and three great grand children, and his sister Flora Clamor.
A service will be held on Saturday, April 24, at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Auditorium of the Wyndemere Retirement Center, 200 Wyndemere Circle, in Wheaton, IL where friends may visit with the family following the service. Interment will be held privately at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
