Belva L. Foltz, age 95, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, IL, died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born on March 1, 1914, in Milledgeville, IL, the daughter of John Davidson and Mary, nee Glenn, Magill.
Belva married Robert E. Foltz on June 16, 1933. Robert and Belva resided in Sterling, IL, until they retired to Sedona, AZ. After Robert's death in 1982, Belva returned to Illinois in 1985.Belva's occupation was her marriage and family. Passions that never faded were reading newspapers, the Bible, and books. She also enjoyed traveling and painting and was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include two sisters, Berniece Anschutz of Sterling, IL, and Mildred Speyrer of Port Arthur, TX; four children, Janet Bruce of Wheaton, IL, Ronald (Marcia) of Shingle Springs, CA, Carol Thorne of Wheaton, IL, and Diane (David) McCallister of Fort Mill, SC; eleven grandchildren, Rob Bruce, Scot Bruce, Kirsten Foltz Anthes, Gretchen Foltz, Ryan Foltz, Amanda Foltz, Amy Thorne Collins, Abby Thorne Birt, Calvin Thorne, Cameron Thorne, and Jonathan McCallister; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a son-in-law, David Bruce; a grandson, Justin McCallister; her brothers, Wayne and John Magill; and her sister, Sue Orr.
A private family graveside service is being held at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL on Saturday, November 21.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream.
