Edward Marshall, Jr., age 69, a longtime resident of Wheaton, passed to be with his Lord on Friday, September 4, at Central DuPage Hospital. He was born on October 12, 1939 in Chicago to Edward and Ruth Marshall.
He was born in Chicago and the family later moved and he was raised in Crown Point, Indiana. Edward attended Wheaton College where he wrestled and played football and graduated in 1961. He then went on to graduate from Northwestern Law School in 1964. During his career, he practiced law in Chicago, Geneva, and Wheaton.
Edward and Judith Slager met at Lake Geneva Youth Camp and were married on September 11, 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Judith, and four children, Edward Marshall III, Susan Marshall, Daniel Marshall, and Judith Ruth Marshall. He is the adoring grandfather to his precious Ariana Grace "Miss Grace" Marshall. He is also survived by his siblings Robert (Beth) Marshall, James (Marsha) Marshall, Elizabeth (John) Sterk, Bruce (Bonnie) Marshall, and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew and his parents.
His granddaughter Ariana's dog, Pepsi, brought great joy to his life along with the many phone calls from relatives and friends especially his longtime friend, Paul Niednagel, who was a frequent caller.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at Bethany Chapel located at President and Seminary Streets in Wheaton where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
