Thomas J. Biscan, age 91, a lifelong resident of Melrose Park, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2016. He was born May 25, 1924 in Mt. Olive, Illinois to Peter and Barbara Biscan.

Tom graduated from Mt. Olive High School and attended Southern Illinois University. He joined the U.S. Navy when he was 19 and served in the Pacific. He survived a Kamikaze attack and earned a Purple Heart. Tom met the love of his life, Rosalie Palermo, at Hines V.A. Hospital. They married on September 23, 1950. He worked his whole career as a cement finisher for Local 502.

Tom's faith was an important part of his life and he was an active member of Melrose Park Christian Assembly (New Life Community Church), where he served as deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Brigade leader and in many other capacities. He also loved to fish and hunt. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie, four children, Tom (Debbie) Biscan of Wayne, Sandy (Ed) Bisinger of Wheaton, Ron (Janet) Biscan of Melrose Park and Francine (Frank) Quintero of Glenview, 12 grandchildren, Deanna, Aaron, Darci, Caleb, Carl, Stephen, Elizabeth, Matthew, Mariah, Claudia, Gabby and Sophia, six great-grandchildren, Jayden, Bella, Briella, Jackson, Maria and Asher, and two sisters, Inka Ziglar and Rose Klock.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rozalyn Moorhead, his parents, and siblings, Steven, Andrew, Peter, John, Mary, Anna and Katherine.

A visitation will be held March 13, 2016 from 3 to 8 p.m. at New Life Community Church, 2001 Division Street, Melrose Park, IL 60160, where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. when a brief service will be held at New Life Community Church with interment following at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
