John C. Hendrickson, age 55, a longtime resident of Wheaton, IL, died Tuesday, April 29 at West Suburban Care Center in Bloomingdale, IL. He succumbed after an eight year battle with ALS. He was born October 20, 1952 in Oak Park, IL to the late James E. and the late Jane C. Hendrickson.

John held bachelor's and master's degrees in history and had completed coursework and comps for a PhD in history at the University of Tennessee.

John resided for a number of years in Alexandria, VA where he was associated with the international law firm, Baker Botts LLP. He returned to Wheaton to be near his friends when he learned of his affliction. Prior to his moving to Bloomingdale, he benefited from the excellent care at the DuPage County Convalescent Center.

John has no immediate surviving family, but is survived by many friends around the country.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, from 4-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. West St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
