Adelaide A. Brooks, age 61, of Wheaton, IL, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at home. She was born February 7, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY.

Adelaide is a graduate of Mt. St. Mary's College in Newburgh, NY and Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Chicago, IL. She spent countless hours sharing her love of cooking with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton, IL. She was an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed activities such as camping, canoeing and hiking.

She is survived by her three children, Jennifer (Brian) Winters, Andrew (Amy) Brooks, and Rebecca (Nathan) Seymour; eight grandchildren, Zoe and Ian Winters, Devin, Noah and Isabel Brooks, and Jerad, Owen and Claire Seymour; four siblings, Elizabeth (Rogelio) Cuesta, Anthony Torraca, Christopher (Patricia) Torraca and David (Donna) Torraca; and three nephews, Patrick and Nicholas, and Daniel Torraca.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucretia Grace Boriotti Torraca.

A visitation will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton, IL. A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton, Ave, in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be private.
