Dolores M. Wetmore, nee Lore, age 76, a resident of Wheaton for 40 years, died Thursday, October 11, at home. She was born May 10, 1931 in Gardner, MA to Carlo and Lucy (Vinzi) Lore.
The 10th of 11 children, Dolores embodied the warmth and strong family values of her parents, extended family, and rich Italian heritage. She enjoyed travel, loved cooking for others, and gardening at home and church. Dolores was best known for making people feel at home. She was an active member of the Gary United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Elmer; her four children, Brian (Deborah) of Wheaton, Bruce (Bernadette) of Broomfield, CO, Bari (Michel Salathe) Wetmore Salathe of Switzerland, and David (Anne) of Arlington, VA; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy (Caroline), Elizabeth, and Thomas, Christopher, Colin, Ryan, Nathan, and Brianna, Philip and Marc Salathe, Mathieu, Camille, Mirabelle, and Celeste; five sisters, one brother; and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 19, at 11:00 A.M. at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment is private.
