Obituary

Dale I. Brownewell, 81, a resident of Villa Park, IL, died August 13, 2011 at his home.

He was born April 26, 1930, in Danville, IL, the son of William I. and Mary Hazel Stunkard Brownewell.

Mr. Brownewell was a public school teacher for Greenfield Community High School, in Greenfield, IL, and School District 45 at Jefferson Junior High in Villa Park where he taught history and political science for 30 years retiring in 1985. Dale then went into business for himself where he owned and operated with his wife, Ye Olde Book Worm, for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force in England during the Korean War. He attended Glenfield Baptist Church in Glen Ellyn, IL.

He is survived by his spouse D. Ann Hessey and son David V. of Lisle, IL.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, and a sister.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service to be held at 4:00 p.m. at Glenfield Baptist Church, 670 S. Lambert Rd., Glen Ellyn, IL, with Rev. James Rahtjen officiating.

Interment will be Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL.
