Spahr
September 24, 1996 – April 12, 2020
Memorial Service for Zachary Aaron Spahr will be hosted at Community Fellowship Church, 28w240 North Ave., West Chicago IL 60185 on Saturday, October 17. Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception. Social distancing protocol will be observed.
Zachary Aaron Spahr, age 23, passed away on April 12, 2020. He was born on September 24, 1996 in Chicago, IL. Zach is cherished by family and friends. His name means "remembered by God". He was an energetic, adventurous young boy who was known for his kind heart and ready smile. His laugh was infectious and jubilant.
He loved youth sports, especially baseball and had a powerful pitching arm. He played baseball, soccer and basketball through the park district and Warrenville Warriors and Winfield Wolves travel baseball teams.
He was generous always and was a loyal and kind friend to many. He had dreams and aspirations of owning his own business and traveling the world, including mission trips. He loved food and was a great cook and could frequently be found stirring something up in the kitchen at any hour of day for he and his friends. His family and friends were always a priority to him and he enjoyed being at home "just chillin."
One of Zach's tattoo's describes his desire for peace and hope in God. "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Zach loved the California Coast and the majestic redwood forests. Zach's ashes are next to his grandparents in the peaceful and beautiful redwood forest.
Zach is survived by his parents, Gordon and Dawn Spahr of Winfield, IL, sister, Tessa Spahr of Union Grove, WI and maternal Grandmother, Norma (Spahr) Rogers of Sebring, Florida. He also is survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
In honor of Zach's compassionate heart, memorial gifts can be given to Community Fellowship Church.
