Winston Robancho Castro, aged 58, a resident of Glendale Heights, IL, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 12, 2024, at his home. Born on March 25, 1965, in the Philippines, Winston grew up in a prosperous family and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas. He immigrated to America in the 1984 with his parents and siblings following President Ferdinand Marcos.
Upon relocating to California, Winston later settled in Chicago, finding employment in various companies including Baxter, Abbott, Rosche and Life Source. For the past six years, he dedicated himself to Gift of Hope in Medical Technology.
Winston married the love of his life, Olivia Tumang, on January 5, 1998, and the couple recently celebrated their 26th anniversary. An enthusiast of movies and an adventurous spirit, Winston enjoyed exploring creative culinary dishes. A devout religious person, he always carried a rosary and actively participated in St. Matthew Catholic Church. Known for his friendly and lovable nature, he will be deeply missed by many, especially his co-workers whom he treated like family.
His tender heart was evident in the care he provided to his handicapped dog, Happy.
His sense of humor, warm smile and engaging conversation made him a beloved friend to both young and old. Additionally, his commitment to sending daily inspirational and spiritual messages to friends and family is evident to his caring nature and desire to uplift others. He will be remembered for these qualities and positive influence he had on those close to him.
He is survived by his wife, Olivia Castro of Glendale Heights and has five living siblings: Norie Aruiza, Rex Castro, William Castro, Corigan Castro, and Arlene Castro and along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Winston was the youngest in family and preceded in death by his sister, Myrna Castro Sales, and his brother, Amado Castro Jr.
He will continue to inspire and remind us of the importance of living a life filled with meaning and acts of love. His legacy will endure, reminding us of the power we have to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us.
