Obituary

Winifred L. Foster, age 80, a resident of Winfield for 43 years, died on Wednesday, July 15 at the Clare Oaks Healthcare Center in Bartlett. She was born on August 10, 1928 in Chicago to Frederik and Lillian Drinhaus.

After graduating from the Chicago Public schools at age 16, she earned a BS in Education from IL State University at age 20. She taught in Granville, IL, at Mooseheart in Aurora, and in Plano, IL, where she met Alan Foster. They were married on August 12, 1961 in Chicago.

Winnie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn for 46 years, where she was the leader of the Women's Quilting group for 20 years and Martha Circle.

She is survived by her husband, Alan, one daughter, Kathryn (Richard) Zima of Wheaton, two grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley, two nephews, Duane Frykman and Vaughn Frykman and a niece, Linda Woodward, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Constance Frykman.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 17 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 41 N. Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Wheaton Cemetery.
