William L. Schmidt's Obituary
William Lewis Schmidt, a resident of Wheaton for 40 years, died Saturday,
February 28. He was born July 11, 1922 in Detroit, MI.
Mr. Schmidt served in the Army Air Force in WWII prior to completing a degree at the University of Michigan. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1971. His career took the family to Michigan, Tennessee and Illinois where he retired from Motorola.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Louise (Billie); four children, Mary Deenik of Holland MI, Bill Schmidt of Woodland WA, Tom Schmidt of Warrenville IL, and Jonathan (Lynn) Schmidt of Yorktown IN; six grandchildren, Joel (Elissa), Tim (Jenna) and Paul (Kirsten) Deenik, Sarah and Laura Schmidt and Will Schmidt; and four great-grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Morgan and Grady Deenik.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1771 S. Wiesbrook Road, Wheaton IL60189. Interment was held privately in Michigan.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the Hope Presbyterian Church.
