Obituary

William "Bill" Quinlan, age 73, a resident of Chicago, passed away on March 2, 2024.  He was born on May 14, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois at Loretto Hospital.

Bill served as legal counsel for Chicago Public Schools (CPS),  Rockford Public Schools, and the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association (CPAA). He was a navigator of Crabapple Island and Fox Lake, sailor and cyclist of Lake Michigan, and walker of the Chicago River. On his Marina City balcony or the porch at the cabin, he was most often found next to a pile of books which included a mix of politics, Chicago and/or Irish history and legal thrillers. He loved family and singing Irish songs (especially alongside his brother Tom, sister Maureen and the clan in good craic).  He was enjoying these favorites while overlooking his beloved Chicago skyline as he passed away.

He is survived by his children, Bridget (Imran Mohamed) Quinlan, Meghan Quinlan, and Bryan (Sarah) Quinlan; his siblings, Maureen (Christopher) Dabovich, and Tom (Cheryl) Quinlan. He was Grandpa to Ronin (16), Rylan (13), Atlas (5), Leona (9), Talulah (6), and Georgia (3).  He was preceded in death by his parents William James and Catherine "Kay" (Gibbons) Quinlan.
