William B. Pevitts, age 73, a longtime resident of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away on August 25, 2025.

Born on October 6, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, William was the beloved son of Edward and Theresa Pevitts. He grew up with a deep appreciation for aviation and military history, inspired by his father, a proud WWII Navy veteran. William carried that enthusiasm throughout his life, along with a passionate love for Chicago sports—cheering on the Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks through every season.

A devoted father and grandfather, William was always there—on the sidelines at sporting events, at graduations, and standing in proud support of his son Geoffrey's naval career. His life was filled with the things he loved: driving his Ford Mustang, flying his flight simulator, sipping Red Eye coffee, eating at the Seven Dwarfs in Wheaton, listening to Grand Funk Railroad, sharing stories with his unmistakable laugh, and spending peaceful days on the beach in South Haven, Michigan. His two loyal black labs, Buddy and Molly, were never far from his side.

William is survived by his son, Geoffrey (Sydney) Pevitts; his cherished grandson, Miller Pevitts; his sister, Patti (Glen) Seimetz; and former spouse, Karen Knight. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Shannon.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N.
