William F. Jenkins, age 83, a resident of Glen Ellyn, IL, died Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. He was born October 30, 1933 in Macon, GA.

Bill was a tax accountant and worked for Martin Oil and then later for Chicago Northwestern Railroad for many years. He was an alumnus of Mercer University in Macon, GA, Emery University in Atlanta, GA, and also Northwestern University. He was very involved in his church, the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn where he had served as an Elder and in other various ministries. He enjoyed reading and especially loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed walking and was a volunteer with the Glen Ellyn Walk-In ministry.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia; two sons, Stephen and Allan Jenkins of Wheaton, IL; his brother, John Jenkins of Lilburn, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Edna "Margo" Jenkins.

A visitation was held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Hom. A memorial servic ewill be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Of Glen Ellyn , 550 N. Main Street, in Glen Ellyn, IL. Services will be in the chapel with a short reception to follow. Interment took place at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
