William Robert Gunderson, age 83, a lifetime resident of Wheaton, died Friday, April 14, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born April 3, 1923 in Chicago.
Mr. Gunderson worked for Kerr-McGee in West Chicago as a Supervisor for 32 years. He served in World War II in the Navy. He was a member of the VFW 2164.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gweneth; his son, Richard W. (the late Carol) Gunderson of Wilmington; his granddaughter, Kasi; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his brother-in-law, Gary (Stacey) Ostrom of Topeka, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert; three brothers; his mother-in-law; his father-in-law; and a brother-in-law.
Services and interment are private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
