Obituary

William Brown "Bill" Davidson, of Wheaton, Illinois, died on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the age of 91. Son of Fredrick Irwin Davidson and Edith Virginia Brown Davidson, he was born in Chatsworth, Georgia, on November 26, 1926.

As a 17-year-old Eagle Scout, Bill entered the Navy during WWII; he served on the destroyer tender USS Black Hawk in Asia. He was a proud graduate of the University of Florida and he received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Bill married Clara Isabella "Cid" Davison in 1953. During their 56 years of marriage, he was a loving husband to Cid and a dedicated father to their five children.

Bill owned a car dealership in Bradenton, Florida, before joining American Motors as an executive.  After moving to Tampa, he worked for many years as a real estate broker. He loved playing tennis, golf, and chess, and solving cryptograms.

Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor, quiet faith, love of family, and for his unwavering integrity. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eugenia "Jean", brother James "Jim", brother Jack, wife Cid, and son, Allen Stewart Davidson. Bill is survived by children Clarissa Miller Davidson Hopwood, William Irwin Davidson, Virginia Hunt Davidson Shaffer, and Margaret Brown Davidson Haverstic; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and many dear extended family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Hultgren Funeral Home on 304 N. Main Street in Wheaton.  A private interment will be held at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville, NC.
