Wilfred C. Frykman, age 91, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, and formerly a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Johnson Healthcare Center at Windsor Park Manor. He was born on October 16, 1913 in Minneapolis, MN to Oscar and Adelle Fryckman.

He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota at Duluth. He began as an educator in Rochester, MN and went on to host a Christian radio program in Lincoln, NB. In 1952 he became International Chaplain of Gideons International in Chicago. He went on to become President and then CEO of Scripture Press Publishing Company in Wheaton. He was a member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, where he had served as chairman.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve, and her two daughters, Glennys Aaland of Wheaton and Gelaine (Sam) Gallucci of St. Charles. He is also survived by six children, Phyllis (Wayne) Dixon of Dayton, TN, Karen (Dr. Robert) Frykman-Steig of San Rafael, CA, Faith Frykman of Door County, WI, Daniel Frykman of Salt Lake City, UT, David (Carole) Frykman of Sister Bay, WI and Dianne (Rick) Capps of Cedar Mountain, NC, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret, nee Gray, Frykman in 1981, his parents and five siblings.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 15, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at the Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton.

Interment will be held at the Chapel Hill Gardens in Oakbrook Terrace.
