Wendell H. Johnson, 90, of Wheaton, died May 28, 2009 at home. Born to Adolph and Mary Steup Johnson on Dec. 30, 1918. He was raised in Fort Wayne, IN. He was graduated from Northwestern University, served in the US Naval Reserve in World War II and was President of the Pontiac Dealers Association of Metropolitan Chicago.

Wendell was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Hendrickson Johnson; his son, Gary Russell; four brothers, Milton, Gilbert, Wilbur, and Thomas.

He is survived by his second wife, Carol Nelson Johnson; his granddaughter, Ellyn Johnson (Erik) Wehler; Holly Johnson (Jimmy) Pettersson; a grandson, Joseph Wendell Johnson; a great grandson, Leo Peter Wehler; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tues., June 2, at 1:00 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment is private.
