Obituary

Wayne C. Wiechmann, age 81, a resident of Wheaton since 1959, died Friday, January 30 at the Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. He was born on October 30, 1927 in Forest Park to Raymond and Ruth Wiechmann.

Mr. Wiechmann served in the Army during WWII. He graduated from the IL Institute of Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He married Doris Picha on August 18, 1951, He worked for Line Material and Fargo Manufacturing as a salesman. After he retired in 1990 he founded D and W Sales.

Wayne was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn and then the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton where he served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and usher. He also was a Republican Precinct Committeeman and an election judge and was involved with the Westwood Homeowners Association.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, three children, Lee (Marta) Wiechmann of Denton, TX, Ruth Wiechmann of Oswego, and Nancy Wiechmann of North Aurora, six grandchildren, Jeremy, Callie, Kim, Kyle, Amy and Melissa, and one brother, Roger (Nancy) Wiechmann of West Dundee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton Ave., in Wheaton.

Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL on Monday, February 23 at 10 a.m.
