Wayne L. Niemeier, age 100, a resident of Warrenville, IL, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He was born February 24, 1918 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Pete and Edna Niemeier.
Wayne grew up in Barrington, IL where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Air Corp during WWII. After the war he married Betty Jane Aston. They lived in Elgin, IL from 1946 until 1980 when he retired and they moved to Sanibel Island, FL. After Betty's death in 1999, he moved to Warrenville.
He loved horses and cowboys. While living in Sanibel Island he loved deep sea fishing.
He is survived by his children, Todd (Lucille) Niemeier of Elgin, and Joan Morrison of Wheaton, five grandchildren, Leslie (Scott) Mathews, Ross (Karin) Morrison, Brooke (Davis) Moore, Elizabeth Niemeier and Mark Niemeier, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty "Hasty" and his parents.
