Obituary

Dr. Warren Webster, age 79, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Wednesday, August 15, at Central DuPage Hospital. He was born February 17, 1928 in Gary, IN.

Warren graduated from the University of Oregon and Fuller Theological Seminary. He also did graduate studies at Biola and Kennedy School of Missions. Among his studies were theology, anthropology, linguistics, Islamics, and missionary medicine. He served for over 16 years as a missionary to Pakistan with the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society (currently WorldVenture). He then served as director of the mission for 22 years. He was a sought after speaker on the subject of world evangelization and was a keynote speaker or seminar leader at several Urbana student missions conventions. He was also active in the International Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization. Throughout these years he was actively involved at First Baptist Church of Wheaton where he also served as Mission's Pastor for 11 years following his retirement from the mission society.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Shirley Webster of Wheaton, IL; two daughters, Cindy (Don) Trulson of Elbow Lake, MN, and Debby (Ron) Brummer of Roseau, MN; his brother Marvin (Jini) Webster of Portland, OR; four granddaughters, Heidi (Pat) Loebs, Nicole Trulson, Lindsay (Aaron) Phillips and Jessica Brummer; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Jessie Webster of Eugene, OR.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 20, from 4-8 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Wheaton, 1310 N. Main St., where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be private at Wheaton Cemetery.
