Warren W. Larson, age 93, a resident of Windsor Park in Carol Stream, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021.  He was born March 10, 1928 in Oak Park to Warren & Sarah Larson.

Warren grew up in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago during The Great Depression but he frequently pointed out, with gratitude, he never experienced economic hardship.  Although he valued hard work, the stories he told often led up to the conclusion that God's blessings are not of our own making but the sign of unmerited favor.  He loved to tell the story of the blind date that ended in marriage to the love of his life 16 months later in 1961.  He saw his family and his friends as gifts and he was profoundly thankful for each one of them.

He is survived by his children Eric (Laura) of Oak Park, IL, Robert (Peggy) of San Antonio, TX and Linda (David) Friesema of Elk Grove Village; and his grandchildren Kerstin, Sarah, Charles, Nicholas, Madeline, Benjamin and Kiera.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Frances (nee Welch).

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  at Hultgren Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held the following day, on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, Illinois.
