Wanda J. Crow, age 80, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Wednesday, October 12, at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton. She was born August 21, 1925 in Janesville, WI.

Wanda was an active member of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church in Wheaton where she volunteered with the Wesley Resale Shop. She also volunteered at the DuPage Convalescent Center for several years. She treasured her time spent with family, and one of her great joys in life was to make and share her creative hand crafts with others. As a homemaker she enjoyed baking, sewing, and reading. More recently in her own words, she was happiest "with a mouse (computer) in one hand and a cookie in the other."

She is survived by her three children, Wendy Smith of Winfield, IL, Rev. David (Beth) Crow of Belle Plaine, IA, and Col. Bruce (Julia) Crow of Washington D.C.; six grandchildren, Kimberly Smith, Laura, Kevin, and Brian Crow, and Kyela and Caili Crow; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Truckenbrod; one niece; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years; Kenneth; her sister, Gloria; and her brother, Malcolm.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, from 4-8 P.M. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, at 10:00 A.M. at Gary Memorial United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St., in Wheaton. Interment will follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL.
