Walter H. Lane's Obituary
Walter H. Lane, 84, 40 year resident of Wheaton passed away Thursday, May 1, at the DuPage Convalescent Center.
He was born in Clinton, IL on February 12, 1924 to Walter H Sr. and Evelyn J. Lane.
Mr. Lane was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. Walter was trained as an electrical engineer. He worked for IBM from 1952 - 1989 retiring as a consultant in the training and education departments. Walter and Maggie enjoyed traveling the world for business and pleasure visiting Europe and the Pacific Rim.
He is survived by his wife Margaret "Maggie" Ann of Wheaton, sisters Charlene Stuart, Betty Ann(Les) Woollen, Patricia J. Ayers, a brother Daryl Lane, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Maurice, Harold,Billy Gene, and Jimmy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, from Noon to 2 PM at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. Service to follow at 2 PM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts to the Alzheimer's Association, 4709 Golf Road, Ste. 1015, Skokie, IL 60076 would be appreciated. Information and guest book are available at hultgrenfh.com or call 630-668-0027.
