Obituary

Walter Foss Jr., 85, of Wheaton, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2011, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born February 23, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of
Walter & Ellen Foss. On April 4, 1970, he married Montene Rosone.

He served in the U.S. Army, WW II, Pacific Theater. He was discharged at the end of the war as a Sergeant First Class and then returned back to the Chicago area where he raised his family and spent the rest of his life. He retired from Addressograph Multigraph after 46 years of employment. He was an enthusiastic motorcyclist who loved to travel the open road with his best buddy, Dale. Besides motorcycles, his hobbies were repairing the family and neighborhood power equipment and cars. He loved his workshop garage! Wally never met a mower, snow blower or power tool that he could not fix! He loved spending time with his daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He attended First Baptist Church of Wheaton.

He is survived by his wife, Montene Foss and 5 daughters: Lyla (Jim) Spata of Kenosha WI, Cathy (Ron) Neesan of Marengo IL, Vickie (Mike) Rivers of Pleasonton, CA, Sue Rogus of Bartlett, IL, Karen (Henry) Steinhauer of Albuquerque, NM. Wally is survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Robert Foss.

Viewing and service will be held Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 from 10:00 AM to Noon, with a service immediately following at Hultgren Funeral, 304 North Main Street, Wheaton. Burial will take place at Wheaton Cemetery.
