Walburga "Eva" Blattner, age 88, transitioned with the Angels on March 18, 2020 at Home Sweet Home in Hot Springs in Arkansas. She was born in East Germany on October 10, 1931 to Leo and Augusta Kassautzki. Eva came to the US as a young woman, where she met and married her husband Raymond John Blattner on October 2, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. They raised 4 children in Chicago until their move to Palos Hills, Illinois, where they lived until her husband proceeded her in 2002. She moved to Carol Stream ,IL in 2003 and later to Hot Springs AR in 2012.

Eva was a Wife, Mother and Homemaker who enjoyed music, singing and reading. She was a European trained seamstress. She was always busy with co-hosting events, helping others to smile on their journey, encouraging participation in education and religious services, working on crafts and sending smiles to all she met. Especially in her later years, Eva became an Arkansas Senior Ambassador to All as well as first runner up to 2013 Mrs. Senior Arkansas.

She is survived by her children Joanne L. Blattner, Susan E. Blattner, Raymond J. Blattner (Priscilla) and Carolyn R. England (Randall), 3 grandchildren Katherine, Emily and Thomas; sister Ruth E. Kaczynski; sister-in-law Lucille Detloff and nephew Robert Mihajlov.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Augusta Kassautzki, husband Raymond John Blattner; her brother Arno Kassautzki; her sister Ursula Mihajlov; her brother-in-laws Nikola Mihajlov, Lt. Col Edward J. Kaczynski and Stanley Detloff.

Services and interment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
