Obituary

Vivian Hedstrom, former longtime resident of Chicago, died Tuesday, October 18. She was born in Chicago on November 7, 1915.

Mrs. Hedstrom was an active member of Lakeview/Edgebrook Free Church in Chicago where she was active in women's and children's ministries, and choir. Recently, she had been a member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Rockford. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, George M. Hedstrom, co-owner of C.B.Hedstrom Sons Shoe Stores in Lakeview and Edgebrook.

Vivian is survived by her three children, Bruce (Alice) of Carmel, IN; Barbara (Tom) Fletcher of Plano, TX; and Ronald (Norma) of Piedmont, SC; 8 cherished grandchildren, Melissa (Gary) Brooks, Kristina (Donald) Newell, Karalynn Fletcher (Ed Luczycki), Kevin (Tracy), Cory (Christy), and Courtney Hedstrom, David (Michelle) Parisi, and Heather (John) Powers; and great-grandchildren Miranda, Bailey, Sean, Annika, Peter, T.J., Christian, Carter, Emma, Isabel, Aiden, and Owen. She is also survived by cousins Myrtle (Kenneth) Samuelson and Fred Swanberg; five nieces, a nephew, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, from 1:30 to 2:30 at the First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Rd. in Rockford, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 pm.

Interment will be held privately at Memorial Park in Skokie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 North Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61114 or Timberlee Christian Center, N8705 Scout Rd East Troy, WI 53120.
