Virginia H. Veague, age 84, a longtime resident of Wheaton, died Saturday, August 21, at the DuPage Convalescent Center in Wheaton. She was born in Benton, AR on January 27, 1920.
Virginia worked at the Viking Restaurant in Wheaton. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wheaton VFW Post #2164 where she had served as president, and also a member of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church in Wheaton. She enjoyed gardening, was a wonderful cook and hostess, and especially loved her family.
She is survived by her five children, Meg (Tom) Sullivan of Batavia, Carolyn (John) Grune of Poplar Grove, Rick (Anne) Veague of Batavia, Pat (Don) Buksnes of Palos Heights, and Richard (Ginny) Veague of Huntington Beach, CA; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Judy Post of Island Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Veague.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 4, at 4:00 P.M. at the Congregational Church of Batavia, 21 S. Batavia Ave.
Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Wheaton.
