Virginia L. Scroggin, age 53, a former longtime resident of Wheaton, died Wednesday, March 8th at Bloomindale Pavillion in Bloomingdale after a long illness. She was born on May 2, 1952 and grew up in Wheaton where she attended the public schools and graduated from Wheaton North High School in 1970. She worked for 20 years as an operator for Illinois Bell.
She is survived by her children, Neil A. Scroggin of St. Charles and April A. (George) Bobik of Bartlett, 3 grandchildren, Emily Bobik, Rebecca Bobik and Forrest Scroggin, her father, Kenneth Cornelius and her former husband, Melvin Scroggin.
Her mother, Ruth Cornelius, nee Larson, preceded her in death.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Cemetery in Wheaton.
