Virginia R. "Ginny" Painter, age 88, a resident of Wheaton, IL went home to be with the Lord October 1, 2016 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL.
Virginia Painter was born the oldest of four children to Arthur and Hilder Martin in Chicago Illinois April 21,1928. She is survived by brothers Jim Martin and Jerry Martin and sister Susan Fusco . Born and raised on the West side of Chicago she stayed there until February 2012 when she moved to Wheaton Illinois.
Ginny raised two sons Steve Painter of Lincoln, Ca. and Marty Painter of Wheaton, Il.while working for Bieze Catering Company evenings and weekends. After both sons were married she worked at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park Illinois as a floor secretary. Even after retiring from full time in 1996 she continued part time for a number of years. She moved to Wheaton Illinois in February 2012 to be closer to family until her sudden passing October 1, 2016.
Ginny has six grandchildren: Trisha Painter, Janessa Painter, Joshua Painter, Becky Painter Kenney, Scott Painter and Marc Painter; and eight great grandchildren: Addison Painter, Brylee Painter Logan Painter, Emma Faith Kenney, Hannah Grace Kenney, Mia Hope Kenney, Jack Painter and Aiden Santiago
Ginny loved playing piano, crocheting Christmas stockings, watching her Chicago Bears and frequently listening to either WMBI radio or live broadcasts of New Life Church (Colorado Springs). She would look forward to her monthly Decision magazine from The Billy Graham organization and also Guideposts sharing highlights with her family whenever she could.
She will be greatly missed but would want all to know that she is more alive today than ever and enjoying eternity in Heaven reunited with parents and family.
