Virginia Mason, age 97, a resident of Lisle, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. She was born January 31, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa to Homer and Mary Schaff.

Virginia grew up in Des Moines where she met her husband, Wood Mason. They were married on June 26, 1946. After living in Park Forest, IL, Mahwah, NJ, Oakland, NJ, Wilmington, DE, Jacksonville, FL and Charlotte, NC, they moved to Wheaton, IL in 1990 when her husband retired from the U.S. Post Office. Virginia worked in the banking industry. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Wheaton.

She is survived by two sons, Wood (Barbara) Mason of Cartersville, GA, and Michael (Carole) Mason of Naperville, grandchildren, Coy (Melissa) Stewart, Ashleigh Nix, Christopher Mason, Charles Trainor, Sarah (David) Budd, Jill (Gavin) Doughtie, Bryan (Kim) Davis, and Anne (Alex) Klaus, and great grandchildren, Zachary Knox Stewart, Ryleigh Nix, Brittany Trainor, Ashley Trainor, Emerson Davis, Sarah Grace and Corbin Klaus, Thomas Doughtie, Brennan, Joel, Isaiah, and Ellen Budd. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002.
